Shirley Jackson

San Francisco, EEUU, 1916 – 1965.

Empezó escribiendo poesía y relatos cortos siendo solo una adolescente. En 1936, empezó a escribir como mínimo mil palabras diarias. Durante su estancia en la Universidad de Siracusa, fue editora de diversas revistas. Publicó relatos en The New Republic y The New Yorker. Sus obras más famosas son La lotería y La maldición de Hill House. Ha influido en autores como Stephen King, Richard Matheson, Jonathan Lethem o Donna Tartt.
