Catherynne M. Valente

Seattle (Washington), Estados Unidos, 1979.

Catherynne M. Valente es escritora y poeta de ciencia ficción y fantasía. Licenciada en Filología Clásica y especializada en lingüística de griego antiguo por la Universidad de San Diego (California) y la Universidad de Edimburgo, ha vivido en Japón, Australia y varias ciudades de EE. UU. Actualmente reside en una isla en Maine. Fue instructora del taller Clarion de ciencia ficción y fantasía en 2014.

Entre otros premios ganó el Tiptree Jr. por In the Night Garden, además del Lambda por Palimpsest y el Locus en 2012 por «Silently and Very Fast», «White Lines on a Green Field» y Six-Gun Snow White. Su novela La niña que recorrió Tierra Fantástica en un barco hecho por ella misma ganó los premios Andre Norton y Locus.

Fue premiada en dos ocasiones con el Hugo al mejor podcast fan, SF Squeecast, en 2012 y 2013. En 2009, Valente donó su archivo a la Asociación de Escritores de Fantasía y Ciencia Ficción de América (SFWA).
