Caitlín R. Kiernan

Dublín, Irlanda, 1964.

Aunque nació en Irlanda, Kiernan se mudó a EE. UU. (Leeds, Alabama), donde sus intereses se centraron en la escritura, la herpetología y la paleontología. Se graduó en esta última especialidad y en Geografía en la Universidad de Alabama en Birmingham y en la Universidad de Colorado en Boulder. Posteriormente trabajó en museos y en la enseñanza.

Empezó a publicar profesionalmente en 1995 con distintos relatos y la colaboración como guionista en The Dreaming, un spin-off de The Sandman, de 1996 a 2001. Fundó como editora Sirenia Digest en 2005, donde también publica la mayoría de sus relatos. Además, ha ganado premios como el Locus o el Stoker por diferentes relatos y novelas. También participó en una banda de goth-folk-blues llamada Death’s Little Sister como vocalista y letrista, entre 1996 y 1997.
