Brooke Bolander escribe cosas extrañas de género indeterminado; la mayoría se acercan bastante a la fantasía o la excentricidad en general. Estudió Historia y Arqueología en la Universidad de Leicester y fue alumna del Clarion Writers’ Workshop, impartido en la Universidad de San Diego, California.

Sus relatos han aparecido en las revistas Lightspeed, Strange Horizons, Nightmare, Uncanny y muchos otros proveedores de género fantástico.
