Susan Hill
Scarborough, Inglaterra, 1942.
Nació cerca del Mar del Norte, algo que influyó en sus historias, pues muchas están ambientadas en el mar o junto a él. Se licenció en Inglés en el King’s College de Londres y ha escrito cincuenta y seis libros. Ha formado parte de la plantilla de muchos periódicos como crítica, y durante tres años fue editora de libros y la única crítica de un periódico local.
En 1971 ganó el Premio Somerset Maugham, en 1972 el Premio Whitbread de Novela, ese mismo año también ganó el Premio John Llewellyn Rhys, en 1988 el Premio Nestlé Smarties Book en la categoría de seis a ocho años, en 2012 el CBE y en 2020 el DBE 2020.
