C. J. Cherryh

C. J. Cherryh

San Luis, EE. UU., 1942.

Novelista, traductora, ensayista y profesora y con más de 80 libros escritos, C.J. Cherryh es una de las escritoras más prolíficas en la ciencia ficción a día de hoy. Estudió Antropología, Historia clásica, Arqueología y Lingüística, además de dedicarse por su cuenta a aprender ciencias como la física y la genética. Sus libros tienden a tener como protagonista un alienígena y se centran en las diferentes formas de pensar con respecto a los seres humanos, además de tratar la especulación científica.

Ha sido nominada a los Hugo y Locus, además de ganar el Hugo por “Cassandra”, La estación Downbelow y Cyteen.

Se le concedieron el premio John W. Campbell en 1977 y el premio Skylark, otorgado por la Asociación de Ciencia Ficción de Nueva Inglaterra (NESFA), por su contribución a la ciencia ficción.
